EStIF 3/17 – Special Issue on Territorial Cooperation

In the EU context, territorial cooperation is viewed as an important channel for reinforcing territorial cohesion and integration. Recent developments such as Brexit are posing challenges to territorial cooperation. The articles in this special issue provide a timely contribution to the post-2020 Cohesion policy debate on themes such as the added value of INTERREG to cross-border cooperation, the impact of cross-border cooperation programmes through crossborder networks, the role and position of macro-region strategies, and the involvement of non-EU Member States in future cooperation arrangements. In addition, there are two articles on transnational cooperation in the context of rural development and LEADER.
