Since 2015, the Danish Management Authorities have introduced and implemented Simplified Costs Options (SCO) in the Rural Development Programme (RDP). SCO of the type Standard scales of unit costs have been implemented in several schemes under measures 4.1 and 4.4. This paper presents the best practices in this implementation, reviews and discusses some of the lessons learnt in the process. Section I introduces the programme in Denmark. Section II presents the method applied for establishment and calculation of the SCO. Section III analyses the different types of data applied for calculation of the SCO and section IV supplies recommendations for the future work with SCO based on the experiences from section II and III.
